Every summer the Herald Harbor Citizens' Association pays Operation Clearwater for water quality testing at Bonaparte Beach so that you can know when it's safe to swim. A high bacteria reading indicate the possible precense of pathogenic bacteria which could get you sick.
Quick Advisories
Here are some quick things to know before swimming in the bay:
Don't swim for 48 hours after it rains
Don't swim if you have any open wounds
Be cautious if the latest water quality results indicate a high bacteria reading
